Eight members of the Hettle Andrews team are participating in The Great Escape Challenge on 21st to 23rd May 2010 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Jon, Lillo, Sophie, Kirsty, Emma, Debbie, Chris and Paul are dedicating themselves to training and improving their fitness to achieve great things for this event. The Great Escape Challenge is a two day camping event set in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, where in our two teams of 4, the aim is to get from A to B showing the most ingenuity, strength and resolve to steal the prize. Going head to head with 60 other corporate teams such as HSBC, AVIVA and BAA to name but a few this adrenaline charged, team developing awe inspiring multi-sport adventure involves us canoeing, cycling, jogging/walking - testing mind, body and building team spirit. Our fundraising efforts are to help and support Marie Curie nurses who work throughout day and night, 365 days a year and care for more than 27,000 patients a year. Every team’s aim is to complete the tasks and survive the challenge, but be assured that the money we raise from taking part in the Great Escape Challenge goes directly to helping care for more people with cancer and other terminal illnesses. Every £20 raised will cover the cost of an hour of Marie Curie Nursing care allowing terminally people to spend their final days at home, the place they most want to be, supported by their families. Finally, a massive thank you for showing an interest in this exciting event, your support is greatly appreciated and we urge you to keep checking our website or www.justgiving.com/Hettle-Andrews to monitor our progress with our training and the outcome of the event.
